Traveling can be a lot of fun, but it can also come with a lot of unexpected bumps, especially if you’re traveling with your furry friend. That’s why it’s crucial to be fully prepared and know what to expect before booking accommodation.

With over 3,000 locations worldwide, Holiday Inn Express is a practical, mid-priced hotel chain that offers pet-friendly stays at many of its locations to make traveling with your four-legged friend a breeze.

While searching for a pet-friendly hotel can seem overwhelming and some hotels charge hefty fees for bringing your pet along, Holiday Inn Express hotels remain fairly consistent across the board and you’ll know what to expect each time you stay.

Learn everything there is to know while staying at a Holiday Inn Express with your pet to ensure you have a great stay.

Pets are welcome at more than 470 Holiday Inn Express locations around the globe. While pet policies vary depending on the location, the chain typically welcomes up to 2 pets with a total max weight of 75 pounds.

Each property requires a non-refundable fee that can range from $25 to $75 per pet per night or per stay depending on the location. However, some Holiday Inn Express properties also require a refundable deposit that you’ll get back as long as little Benji is a good boy.

Most Holiday Inn Express locations ask for you to not leave your pet unattended and pets are not allowed in the restaurant and other common areas of the hotels. Most hotels, however, have a pet relief area offering a nice patch of grass for your furry friend to stretch their legs or do their business.

Some locations may have breed and weight restrictions or only allow animals in designated rooms, so it’s important to check with the specific hotel location before booking if you’re planning to bring your furry friend along.

If that friend happens to be feline, check if your desired location allows cats first as many of the pet-friendly Holiday Inn Express hotels only allow dogs. Woof.

To see if a Holiday Inn Express or other IHG hotels in a certain city allows pets, you can use the pet-friendly hotel search from their website and filter by your preferred hotel chains and/or locations.
